I wasn’t just part of the entertainment business, I was part of the holy sh*t business
On the path to entertain the human race, I was housed in loyalty marketing and chosen as a future creative leader (a title more selective than a Harvard acceptance NBD). I collaborated on content across on-property marketing teams, corporate social media, public relations and entertainment.
The NBA Legends Dinner was an event that wasn’t an idea. As part of the inaugural season of the Las Vegas Aces, Horace Grant came to Mandalay Bay, but no event was planned. Starting as a free throw contest, the experience eventually evolved into this 1-on-1 dinner event. I took the initiative to create the event, get buy-in from my department leadership, property marketing leadership and the Mandalay Bay property president. I also wrote the headline, body copy and press release. Engagement was through MGM’s owned media channels of Mandalay Bay’s Twitter, a landing page placed at the MGM Resort’s corporate level and Newsroom, MGM’s internal program for releasing press releases.
